The Best Practices Forum is the annual event that recognizes outstanding compliance performance in health care organizations. It brings together health care compliance professionals, senior executives and leading compliance experts in a vendor free learning environment. This Forum is the compliance educational event of the year according to attendees at the Forums since 1995
The specific goals of Health Ethics Trust’s Best Practices Forum are:
- • To build awareness of the importance of compliance in all sectors of health care;
• To recognize organizational accomplishment in health care compliance
• To exchange information about what constitutes a best compliance practice.
It is not the intention of the best compliance practices process to set prescriptive standards for the health care industry. Rather, the aim is to extend the boundaries of practical knowledge, to bring best compliance practices to a broader health care audience.
Currently, the best compliance practices process encompasses a number of activities. The most prominent of these is the Healthcare Best Compliance Practices Forum which was established in 1997 in co-operation with the School of Public Health at UNC/Chapel Hill. The Forum is an annual event that recognizes outstanding compliance performance in health care organizations. It also brings together health care compliance professionals and senior executives with heads of key government agencies and important industry groups and associations.
The Forum carries credit towards the CCP (Certified Compliance Professional) and CCE (Certified Compliance Executive) credentials. Our attendees know it makes all the difference - so attend and find out for yourself.
A note about the Best Practices Forum from HET President Mark Pastin:
Once you are beyond building a compliance program, the most important task is to make it work in a way that fits the values and mission of the organization while reducing compliance risks. What makes The Forum so popular (and our best educational opportunity of the year) is the mix of award winners, leading officials and compliance professionals.
The Best Practices process is an established peer review process identifying best practices in key compliance areas. Identified best practices are presented at the Forum, the only national event in which health care leaders, top government officials, compliance professionals and selected legal and academic experts meet in a vendor free environment to address practical compliance concerns. This environment allows for maximum learning and interaction with presenters.
In addition to awards for program elements, we also identify a Best Compliance Practice of the Year. If you are submitting an entire program for consideration, the submission must be accompanied by a program evaluation conducted within the past 24 months. Submissions will only be considered if a member of the candidate organization – capable of presenting the submitted practice – is enrolled prior to the submission deadline.
The lifeblood of the Forum - and the reason for its continued growth - is that it identifies actual best compliance practices that have been independently tested by leading organizations and reviewed by peers. Attendees consistently report that this is the most useful compliance program that they have ever attended. We may also add that it is an exceptional value.
We look forward to seeing you each year for this important event.
